After a long while did some bird photography around Mumbai today.
Visited the Nagla Block , SNGP this morning along with Rakesh Dhareshwar.
Some stuff made while waiting.
This extremely colourful birdie is found around Mumbai during the rains. This is a, very small kingfisher, also known as, the Three toed kingfisher and is found in forests besides streams and water bodies.
Nikon D3, 600mm VR + TC14, ISO 1600, 1/80th @ F5.6
Got lucky with a very clean background ! Very much worth the waking at 4.30 AM and, the extreme humidity + mosquitoes in the forest !

Hey Krish
Good photos man!! Will visit your albums more often.
Classy! I really loved the frame. And I know that bg is possible only with the 600 – awesome bg to go with the spectacular specimen.
